Part I

  • It's been a turbulent year.
    • Steel yourself by spending some quiet time alone.
    • Some years are like that.
    • Bad times help us enjoy the good times.
  • I don't like interfering in squabbles between noble brats, but the parents complain if I don't. It's annoying.
    • It could be entertaining to make the parents fight instead.
    • It's OK to ignore them.
    • Our students need our protection.

Part II

  • I appreciate ruined buildings. They symbolize that no home is permanent.
    • They remind us that life is impermanent as well.
    • We should repair them, little by little.
    • What if we just destroyed them all and rebuilt them?
  • A subordinate is down because they failed a recon mission. Making it back alive should be reward enough. How can I convince them of this?
    • Say that only the living can learn from their mistakes.
    • Say that you can't train a dead soldier.
    • You can't. Why waste your breath on a defeatist?
